Patrick's Woods
| The Mermaid was depicted in the 5th century Bestiary of Physiologies as a deadly creature, half human and half fish. Medieval sailors shared exaggerated tales of Mermaids through the 17th century. She was described as either a tempest whose silent music lured sailor’s to a watery death, or a benevolent creature that calmed the seas and helped guide ships to safe harbors. |
| On A Clam Shell Purse |

  The
Mermaid’s two tales provide the motifs for this purse shaped like a
clam’s shell. The purse has interior pockets for your favorite tools. A
clam’s pearl is free to roll along the bottom of the purse. The Clam Shell
purse measures approx. 6” wide X 4” high. Lining fabrics may vary
from the photos. |
 The Vanity Set includes the Mermaid’s pyn pillow with a
Mermaid combing her long lustrous hair and gazing into the ‘sequin’
mirror; the other side of the pillow has the Mermaid’s crown and fish
motifs. The Needle Compact is lined with ultrasuede and has a felted wool page
for needles. Kit for clam shell purse and vanity set includes linen, silk floss, silk Serica, linings, interfacing, stiffener, elastic, sequin, ribbon, felted wool, magnets, a Clam’s pearl and petite seed beads, and needles. Kit does not include ivory scrimshaw pieces or pearl buttons. We will be doing these pieces as pre-stitching so that you can spend your class time doing the actual finishing required. Kits will be available in early December. Your class fee is due in full at the time we send the pre-stitching portion of your kit. The finishing portion of the kit will be handed out in class so that you don't need to remember to bring all of those items with you. Pre-stitching help will be available at the shop either in person or by phone if you are travelling to the class. Kit & lunch included. |

To sign up for this Patrick's Woods class, please contact the shop via phone, fax, e-mail or register online. Registration requires the deposit amount to be paid at the time of registration. Be sure to give your contact information in case we need to reach you for any reason.
There are no refunds for cancellation of designer classes so please choose wisely before registering. If we have to cancel a class for any reason your class fee will be refunded, less fees for kits received in advance.
Patrick's Woods kits are not
available except as part of a class.
No exceptions can be made.
