This year's workshop is a design based on a chair cover at Levens Hall in sunny in Cumbria England. It is a cut down and re-use of a set of 1680 bedhangings. There will be a large kit based on this piece availabe in 2008, and your workshop kit will be a leaf section which includes ideal areas for using silk and metal threads with the crewel wool. You will use one of Phillipa's crewel work stands during the class which will make your stitching experience even more "traditional". We will have the stands available for purchase as well and you can preorder the larger kit from this lovely chair design. Plus we'll have many others of Phillipa's designs. presenting a terrific slide show about design, color different types of
designs. She has great photos of historical pieces and is a wealth of knowledge
on the history of crewel work. If you're attending Phillipa's class the slide presentation is included in your class fee. If you'd like to sign-up just for the slide presentation the cost is $25. |
To sign up for Phillipa's class, please contact the shop via phone, fax or e-mail. Registration requires the deposit amount to be paid at the time of registration. Be sure to give your contact information in case we need to reach you for any reason.
There are no refunds for cancellation of Phillipa's class so please choose wisely before registering. If we have to cancel a class for any reason your class fee will be refunded, less fees for kits received in advance.
