We're back from Nashville and we had a great time! In addition to finding some really great new items for the shop, we had a fabulous time visiting with our friends at the show. Each of us in the Needlework Maffia brings at least one person with us to the show and the joke has become that they are our "sherpas" - I mean, someone has to carry all this stuff! Our "sherpas" decided it's time to unionize so I suspect our next trade show will come with their demands for less baggage and more food and drink breaks. Ah, the problems finding good help :-).

CA will be here this weekend to teach 3 of her wonderful counted-thread projects. Her Bellagio Inspired Pocket ($135) is Saturday morning and features a bead fringe (I've picked all the colors and the beads for this one), the Garden Steps ($185) is Saturday afternoon and the Mermaild Pocket Purse ($195) is all day Sunday. The Mermaid Pocket Purse is a pre-stitching piece but you can still sign up and you'll get to see other purses being finished in class and ask questions so you can do the finishing later. We still have room in all three classes and the fee includes your complete kit as well as lunch. For more details visit our Classes page or click on the link above for each class.

Between what we brought back from Nashville and what has come via UPS to the shop, we've have lots of new, fun goodies in the shop for you to check. Here are some highlights:
  • Shores of Hawk Run HollowBent Creek - Herow, Clip-Art Easter, Red Thread Thankful & Connected
  • Carriage House Samplings - Shores of Hawk Run Hollow. This is my favorite in the series and just amazing to see stitched up. We have a project page in the online catalog for this one as well.




  • Treasure ChestThe Cat's Whiskers - The Queen Treasure Chest & The Garden Chair. We also have thread packs from Dinky Dyes for these.

  • February TeapotGiulia Punti Antichi - great new Italian inspired designs featuring Maliocia beads. There are 2 Biscornu, 1 Pincushion and a Sicssosrs Fob. In addition we have the hand-made pins that go with her Mary Queen of Scots Casket and A Night Before Christmas Casket.

  • JABC - their 2008 Stitch Every Day series is a teapots! You buy the button pack and the chart comes with it.

  • JBW Designs - New French Country designs - Dog, Amour, Baby Sampler, Belle Fleurs & Lark.


  • Barnabee's BrideJust Nan - Peter Cottontail is a limited edition WhimZi piece only available through shops that attended the Nashville Market. Sparkling Iris is cute small Iris design. And coming in March are When Barnabee Met Bella and Barnabee's Bride - two limited edition kits. In April we'll receive the first of a new series called Over The Top which is a fun decorated tin with a cute design for the top. The first is Hop. You can pre-order the up-coming releases via the online catalog. We still have a few of Lady Scarlet's Secret Garden if you didn't get yours last year.



  • Hannah HorsfallThe Spinning Monkey - Hannah Horsfall. After more than a year wait this lovely Ackworth Sampler is finally released! We have a project page in the online catalog so you can order all the supplies for it - we have a silk pack from Old Willow Stitchery for it as well.

  • The Workbasket - new charts 4 Corner Houses, Rabbit Roundel, Quaker Pig & Rooster, Seasonal Houses. We also picked up 2 new hand-painted canvases Faith, Hope & Love and Mermaid's Singing.
New colors have also been released for Sampler Threads, Weeks Dye Works, Dinky Dyes and Crescent Colours Floss and Belle Soie.

Temari Time

The second Sunday of each month we now feature"Temari Time". Sherry will be here for a 2-hour open workshop from 1:30-3:30 for $10. Bring your current Temari ball and have Sherry help you with it, or Sherry can help you with starting a new ball. March's Temari Time is March 9th. Come and have some wrapping fun! While we had a great trip to Nashville I once again came back with a bad cold. I've decided that I'm allergic to coming home. I never seem to catch the cold going away, only on coming back. What's with that? But I'm finally on the mend, just in time for CA to come this weekend and have some great stitching fun with her and those coming to class. I hope you'll get a chance to stop by and see CA's projects if you're not able to attend class and that you'll you come see all the goodies we have for you!
