By the time you read this, it will officially be Fall, one of my favorite times of the year. I love it when the days turn crisp, although it will be awhile before that happens here. Still plenty of time to finish up the gardening - but then when will I stitch? |

June McKnight Bargello Class - October 4th
From 3:30-4:30 we'll have a book signing and time for everyone to visit with June. Come join us for very fun stitching day! You can sign up for June's classes through our website or by calling the shop. |

Sharon G Classes - November 6-9thWe have finalized everything with Sharon G for her 4 days of classes in early November. Thursday and Friday Sharon will teach 2 days of Directed Stitching, where you bring a canvas and she'll help you bring it to life. You can sign up for one or both days. Cost is $135 for a single day or $225 for both days.
Sharon is a great teacher and a funny, warm person. You'll enjoy these classes immensely and I'll hope you'll be able to join us for one or both of them. You can find out more details about the classes and sign-up for them in our website. Or you can give us a call. |

2008 Christmas Finishing DeadlinesThe deadline for getting pillows, stockings and stand-up figures was this past week. If you have something in those categories to be finished we can still turn them in, but they are not guaranteed to be done by Christmas. We can always check with the finisher to see what the possibilities are for you. The ornaments deadline is October 12th. |

Debi and I had a great time at the Fall Needlework Market. We got to meet up with our Needlework Maffia buddies and even had time for a massage in the spa at the hotel. It was great to see the designers and many of our shop owner friends and pick up goodies. I'll be gone this week for a TNNA board
meeting and then a couple of days vacation. I'm planning to take my BoINK
project with me so hopefully there will be a bit of stitching time. We'll see
how much I get done :-).

We're really pleased to have a great selection of
Dale's canvases for another couple of weeks during our DJ Designs Trunkshow.
From floral pillow canvases to purses and even foot stools, there is a huge
range of wonderful hand-painted designs. Remember, you do earn Rewards points
on trunkshow purchases as well. So come by and take a look at these great
designs through the end of September.
Dale will be at the shop Saturday September 27th from
noon to 4pm for a Designer Meet 'n Greet. Dale is a very talented designer and
a fun guy as well. He'll be bringing some finished pieces with him so you can
see what they look like all stitched up and turned into lovely pieces. We hope
many of you will take the opportunity to come visit that afternoon, check out
his canvases and say hello.
We still have room in both of June's Bargello classes
on Saturday October 4th. The morning class will be from 10am - 12:30pm and is
essentially Bargello 101. You'll learn how to pick threads, colors and patterns
using June's Best Bargello Book. You will need to have your own copy of
June's book, which you can bring with you if you already own it, or you can
purchase a copy during the class. Bring your own threads or pick some during
class. We'll provide a piece of mounted blank canvas and you can have fun with
the rest. If your favorite colors are in a piece of fabric, a piece of
clothing, a flower or something else, bring that along and June will help you
with color selection. Class cost is $35.
The afternoon class will be from 1:30pm - 3:00 and
features the Holly Diamond design from June's Christmas Medallions book.
We'll provide all the stitching materials for this design. Class cost is $25.
You'll need a copy of June's Christmas Medallions book, available for
sale during class if you don't already own a copy.
On Saturday and Sunday Sharon will be
teaching one her lovely hand-painted canvases, Terrace, which evokes Tuscany to
me. You'll learn a variety of stitches using silk and metal threads. Class
& Canvas fee is $400, with the thread kit (which includes the Evertite
bars) it's $550 (we'll kit it with partial skeins to keep the cost down).
We have received one batch of fabric and the
Threadholders for Jeannette Douglas's new multi-part design, My Stitching
Album. Jeannette is busily printing more of the charts for the first two pieces
which we expect to arrive in the next couple of weeks. This is a year-long
design that Jeannette is releasing through late 2009 and looks to be a very fun
