Greetings!

My trip back from Nantucket was uneventful and it was good to come home. I always miss sleeping in my own bed when I'm traveling. I brought my basket to the shop so if you come by you can take a look at it. CA and I are working on what she'll be teaching February 28th/March 1st, 2009. I know she'll be doing a small chocolate box that's adapted from her Brussels event this year. We still figuring out what oldies-but-goodies she'll be teaching aside from that. Stay tuned and I'll post the details when we settle on the projects.

My Big Toe Designs Accessories Trunk Show

Debbie from My Big Toe Designs is also a designer of some lovely beaded stitching accessories. When we had her cross-stitch designs trunk show last year she sent along some of her beaded items and they were a big hit. So this year we have a trunk show of her accessories through December 31st. There are two lengths of Beaded Fobs, stitch Markers, Mini Fob Set (with animal charms), Teapot Fob Set, Thread Counters & Thread Pickers. Come in to the store to see them or you can call us to see if we have color combination you're looking for (every beaded item is different).

Let Love Abide

The book signing with Marian on Tuesday was great. She is such a gracious lady and we were so pleased to be one of the book launch sites for Let Love Abide - The Marian Soss Sampler Collection by In The Company of Friends. Marian signed books for those who came and those who pre-ordered books. We also had her sign some additional copies so we d have a few in stock that are signed.

If you'd like to order one you can call the shop or send us a email. The book is $32. Signed copies are while supplies last.

Sharon G Classes & Trunk Show - November 6-9th

TerraceSharon brought several of her stitched models with her that we have on display while she's here teaching. Even if you're not taking on of her classes do stop by the shop to see her wonderful designs.

We still have some room in the Saturday/Sunday class - Terrace. You'll learn a wide variety of stitches using silk and metal threads. Class & Canvas fee is $400, with the thread kit it's $550.

Sharon is a great teacher and a funny, warm person. You'll enjoy these classes immensely and I'll hope you'll be able to join us for the class or just to come see Sharon's designs. You can find out more details about the classes and sign-up on our website. Or you can give us a call.

Jeannette Douglas's new multi-part design, My Stitching Album released part 3 in October.

We have parts 1, 2 & 3 as well as the thread packs for them. Fabric choices in Lakeside Linens are Vintage Luna, Vintage Lentil, Light Examplar or Pearled Barley, but you can stitch this on anything. It does require a larger cut than usual, 55x27 so we special order them from Lakeside. If you have a favorite Lakeside color we've not listed, just send us an e-mail and we can order a custom cut for you. Dyeing time is usually 4 weeks but can be longer if they are swamped with orders.

This is a year-long design that Jeannette is releasing through late 2009 and a very fun project. You can read more about it on Jeannette's website. You can order any of the currently available pieces through our on-line catalog and let us know if you want to sign-up for them to come on auto. Starting in November we'll combine this project with our BoINK Stitch Groups since both are lengthy projects and I'm sure we could all use the stitching support!

I was surprised to come home to rain - it doesn't usually start here until late November. I love rain and we didn't see that much of it in Nantucket (more wind than anything) so it was a pleasant surprise. This did mean however, that it rained at the beach for my nephew's wedding on Halloween. It certainly didn't dampen our spirits and the bride and groom where happy getting married on the beach even with the rain (they said they wouldn't have held the wedding anywhere else). It wasn't a hard rain so the pictures of the ceremony are filled with umbrellas as well as smiling faces!

I hope you have some time to do a bit of stitching this coming week - I know I plan to work a bit more on my BoINK this week. Then I'm off to Phoenix for a few days to meet up with Needlework Mafia and attend Jean Lea's seminar. So there will be more projects to stitch on (one can never have too many projects)!

Happy Stitching,

Cathe
