November Greetings!
So our fall weather has finally arrived and
the days have turned cooler. Although to keep from getting too cool I'm going
to visit Jean at Attic Needlework this weekend for her Sampler
Symposium. This time of year in Phoenix it's what she calls the "not so
hot" season, which usually means it's around 75. I'm looking forward to seeing
my Needlework Mafia buddies (Jean, Roz, Jeannine and Deb) as well as many other
friends who are coming to the event. And hopefully I'll get time to stitch as
well.
Speaking of Jean's events - she is holding
her 12th Annual Silent Auction for Breast Cancer Research on November
21st. If you visit her website there is
information on the event and how to bid on items. The goal this year is
$15,000. I'm donating some of the Swarovski Crystal scissors fobs I make. If
you'd like to donate something for the auction or even money, just visit
The Attic's website or
call them. Here's hoping the goal is met and exceeded! |

Occasionally I like to do what I call an
"oddball sale" and this Friday is great excuse for that. We'll be having a
Friday The 13th Sale on yes, Friday the 13th. Just about everything will be on
sale with a few exceptions (our auto series like Just Nan, Jeannette Douglas's
My Stitching Album, Blackbird Designs Loose Feathers, Limited Editions,
finishing, sale items & items on Hold are not included in the sale).
In-stock items will be 13% off that day but you do have to mention the sale. So
if you're in the store, mention it when you check out. If you're ordering
on-line or via phone or e-mail just mention our Friday the 13th sale. Remember
it's limited to purchases or orders on November 13th.
In addition to 13% off you will still earn
Rewards points for this one-day event. So have some shopping on Friday the
13th!!! |

We have finally set a date for our class
with Jeannette Douglas - October 30/31, 2010. I'll be posting all the class
details by the end of November. But I know some of you were anxiously awaiting
a definite date. So put Halloween weekend 2010 on your calendar for a different
kind of "treat"! |
What's New &
Updates
We've had several customers looking for the
Halloween issue of Just Cross-Stitch (Sep/Oct 2009). It is sold out and
the publisher has no more. They have no plans to reprint the issue so you may
have to search a bit to find a copy. All of our shop friends are sold out as
well.

I have finished the left side of the
background on my Zecca bird bag and now I'm starting on the dots. My husband
wondered if the bird thought they were eggs and was concerned about me working
on them but I assured him the bird knew they were decorations. We have many odd
conversations like this about my stitching :-). I am planning to take it with
me to Phoenix since I stitch with it rolled up, which makes it quite portable.
I'll take some more photos of it when I get back. And maybe there'll be some
stitching time for my 45 count projects - not on the plane though...
