Happy Thanksgiving!
As we get ready to celebrate a day of
Thanksgiving here in the US I wanted to take a moment to thank each of you for
being part of the shop's wider stitching family. Whether we see you in the
store or in the virtual world, we appreciate your patronage!
Another thing to be thankful for - Jean's
12th Annual Silent Auction for Breast Cancer Research reached a
preliminary number of $15,300! This is from a note Jean sent out on Monday:
Still to be added to the total are the opportunity-ticket proceeds as well as
monetary donations that came in, and are still coming! So if you wanted to
contribute but thought it was too late, it's not. All proceeds go directly to
the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, to whom your check should be made
payable. Additionally, for Item 254, Abigail Colby's Work Basket and
accessories, the minimum number of opportunity tickets were not sold, so it is
now open for bidding. The current bid is at $500. Bidding will close on
Tuesday, December 1, at 5 PM MST. Please submit your bids either by e-mail or
by phone (toll-free at 1.888.942-8842 ~ 1.888.94-ATTIC) to Attic Needlework.
You can visit their website to see the
workbasket. |

We have finalized the project that Sherri
Jones of Patrick's Woods will be teaching for us Sunday, March 21. Her
Mermaid's
Two Tales is a great project not only to stitch but to learn how to finish.
We'll be doing this as a pre-stitched piece so that we can spend the day of the
class actually putting the clam shell purse together. When you sign-up the
entire fee is due and we'll send you the stitching portion of the kit. The
finishing portion will be handed out at the class in March. You can sign-up online or
by calling the shop. Your credit card will not be charged until we ship the
pre-stitching portion of the kit to you - sometime in early December. Come join
us for what should be a very fun day. |

 I keep forgetting
to mention that for those of you who are interested in solid colors of Soie
Surfine we've been able to get more. There are not a lot of solid colors
available but we have gotten a number of lovely colors in stock. You can see
them on our
AVAS
Soie Surfine page in the online catalog. The stitched sample is with Soie
Surfine #013 and is the letter J from The Heart's Content Splendor
XV. It is stitched over one on 40 count Graziano linen.
You can sign-up for the Society through us
by calling the shop or through the
on-line catalog.
Be sure to specify which count fabric you want as part of your Subscription. We
will be taking sign-ups for Series 1 until 30 days after the end of Series 1.
So if you decide later to subscribe you can do that and we'll send you
everything that's been released up to that point for Series 1.

Society News blog or

We will be closed tomorrow so all of the
NIAH staff can celebrate Thanksgiving. But we'll be open again on Black Friday
- so if you need respite from the holiday crowds come visit us, have a cup of
tea and perhaps do a little stitching or some quite shopping. Have a great
holiday!
