| Debi and I had a great
time in Nashville catching up with friends,
making new ones and looking at a lot of new product coming into the marketplace. We moved to a new hotel in Nashville this year and I think everyone enjoyed
the newer facilities. A few vendors that had stopped coming because of issues with the previous location came so we were pleased to see them. This newsletter I'm going to tease you with a handful of new items we picked up. We'll have all of them out for purchase on Saturday so stop by this weekend to see the selection we brought back. None of these are posted in our online catalog at present so either e-mail us or call the shop if you can't make an in-person visit. | |

& Parking Mon-Sat 11am - 5pm Sun 1 - 4pm On Saturdays you can park at the Hawthorne Suites hotel located at the corner of Pacific and Webster. | Little House Needleworks had an adorable "mattress"
that holds your scissors - Needle and Thread. "Needle and Thread, Needle and Thread. When starlight fades, I lay them to bed." The pillow portion is a pincushion. You stitch the cover (or "blanket") and wrap it around the "mattress". The chart pack ($19) includes a pattern for the fob as well. We picked up a few of the pre-finished "mattresses" ($19) or you can make your own! Courtney Collection had 3 new designs we loved. Courtney created Black
Work Show ($26) more than 20 years ago for her personal use and is just now releasing it for us to enjoy. Whether you decide to do it as a complete
design or use it as a Blackwork motif guide, it's a wonderful piece.Celtic Lads ($21) is another tonal celtic inspired design by Courtney. I can see this in a number of tone-on-tone colors, like Belle Soie Ocean Tide. Hmm, or maybe even some of my Soie Surfine! Janice at Traditional Stitches thought that Red Bird ($15) would look fabulous in our Society of Soie Surfine colors of Olivine, Carmine
Rose and the brown coming in at the end of Series #1. Of course I would stitch it over one on 40 count - but that's just me. |
| My dear friend Elizabeth Talledo - Dames of the Needle (otherwise known as eBeth) has once again created some amazing designs. I'm especially fond of her Maritime Needle Book, which was originally a teaching piece she has just released. | |||

| eBeth will be teaching at the National EGA Seminar in September (here in San Francisco). She's planning to stop by the shop while she's out, either for a class with us or maybe a meet 'n greet. We'll keep you posted as we iron out the details. | |||
| I'll be writing up more about
our Nashville trip on the blog in the next few days. I did talk with Jeannette Douglas about our class this October (which is over
Halloween weekend). I got to see a version of our class piece stitched on 36 count - so I think we'll offer it to students in either 32 or 36 count.
Once I get the pricing done I'll post that to the website with the options available. Now off for some more Olympic stitching. I had planned to finish my Zecca purse front before I left for Nashville but I'm at the same spot - 2 circles and one leaf left to finish!. So maybe I'll be done with it when the Olympics are having their closing ceremony!
