Spring Greetings,

This will be a brief message since I'm wrapped up in a bunch of projects right now, including getting ready for Maker Faire - I have to take all the supplies over there on Friday! Many thanks to Cyndie H., Susan A. and Linda at Old World Designs for their efforts in putting kits together. And thanks to Alice Peterson Co., DMC, Prescencia, Fleur de Paris and Norden Crafts for their donations!

Maker FaireIf you're in the SF Bay area and plan to help out at Maker Faire in San Mateo this weekend, be sure to sign-up now if you have not already done so. We still need a few more volunteers to teach people to needlepoint, cross-stitch and embroidery at the event, especially on Sunday. Sign-up on the Volunteer sign-up page ASAP. The Maker Faire folks use this list to allow volunteers in without having to pay the entrance fee. So sign-up now if you've not done so already.

You don't need any previous teaching experience, just a desire to show people how to stitch and to have some fun. I'll be there Sunday and I hope to see some of you there.

If we don't see you there as a volunteer perhaps we'll see you at an attendee. If you don't live in the SF Bay area, Maker Faire has also added events in Detroit, MI and NY, NY - so if you have stitching friends there they too can participate in what is an amazingly fun event!

Society of Soie Surfine - Reindeer with CocolatWe're nearing the end of Series #1 for the Society of Soie Surfine. Our last thread color - Cocolat - is being dyed in the next few days. So we will be later than we planned for releasing it but we hope to get some of it out in early June. We still need a bit more of the base thread to dye so not all of the orders will go out right away once we get it in and packaged.

If you've thought about signing up for the Series #1 but not done so yet, we'll be taking sign-ups until 30 days after we release Cocolat. Then we'll start work on Series #2. I hope to get the sign-up form done for Series #2 in the next week, after Maker Faire is done and some other projects are off my plate.

If you live near Minneapolis stop by and visit Stitchville USA - Deb has my stitched models on display!

Zecca BagIn between my non-stitching projects, stitching continues on my Zecca bag. I've started working on the section that looks like a quilt pattern. I'm doing it all in satin stitch with 2 strands of Baroque Silk. I find the satin stitch rather relaxing!

I hope you too find some time to stitch in between the demands of other things in your life.

Happy Stitching,

Cathe
