Jeannette Douglas Trunk Show Here Through October 1st
We
have
a small trunkshow of Jeannette's latest designs in the shop through this
Sunday. Then it gets packed up and goes off to its next stop. We've got
the model for
her new Halloween Sampler ($21/chart, $52/thread pack), along
with some
of her box designs (Pumpkin Patch Box $15.50 & Bird Box $17),
pincushions and shaker box designs. If you're looking for something
specific, just drop
us an e-mail if you aren't going to be able to stop by this weekend.
We had a
fabulous class with Jeanette last weekend and look forward to her next visit (hopefully fall of 2019).
We still have a few of her Needles & Pins kits ($35) you'll find it our on Classes
page and we can mail it to you.
New Things & News
DMC announced that they are releasing 35 new colors in
November. We don't know the numbers they will use but we did get a photo
from
one of our distributors so we have some clue what they look like. If you
are interested in pre-order them we have add a 2017 pack to the online catalog. These will be sold as individual skeins (unlike the 2013 colors)
so if you want to wait to only order a few we'll add them separately when we know their names and real color numbers.
Yarn Tree has is introducing a new line of scroll frames which are now in production to replace the EZ
Stitch line as American Dream Products is closed. They have
also sourced a low profile version of hook & loop tape. Their rods
will come
with twill tape where the hook & loop is already attached to the
twill tape. We will be getting the hook & loop tape soon and the
rods, bars
and knobs when they are out of production, which might be several weeks.
If you are interested in any of these, just drop us a note and we'll
let you know
when
we get them. We'll add them to the online catalog soon as we get
pricing on all the parts. They will be compatible with the EZ Stitch
scroll frames.
Part 2 of Lizzie*Kate 3 part Christmas Mystery series , Spirit of Christmas
will be
shipped to us next week. The design uses Picture This Plus linen
(28 or 32 count) or aida (14 or 16 count) and we have that as well as
the Week's
floss and Stitch Dots Needle Nanny. Parts 2, 3 & 4 will be available
in October, November and December. You'll find Spirit of Christmas in our online catalog.
I created an order page this week for the new Carriage
House Sampling Halloween at Hawk Run Hollow piece. You'll find both the
DMC
and NPI silk threads as well as fabric options for the Picture This Plus
Legacy in 28, 32, 36 and 40 count. We have the fabric on order and
should get it in
within 3 weeks or so. I have not added the other charts, but just drop
us a note if you want any of them.

Part 4 of Brenda's summer series - Summer Schoolhouse - Lessons in Abecedarian will come in a
couple of weeks and this final release has 2 extra projects - strawberry pincushion and hornbook. We
have ordered the hornbooks and trim ($11) so you can purchase those as
well. We also ordered the Stitch Dots Needle Nannies for each part (5
in total). You'll find the series and supplies on the order page. The Stitch Dots & Hornbook are listed as Related Items or you can find the Stitch
Dots page here.
Here are a few of the Zecca canvases I came back from
Destination Dallas with. The line drawn canvases from are essentially a
way to
play with color. Think a coloring book, which is popular for adults,
with thread. The Bee Kind canvas she had a stitched model of what she'd
done. Each canvas
comes with a printed copy of the canvas so you can photocopy it, color
it in and then pick your thread colors. Karen first did these last year
and has since
expanded the range of designs. Each of these is $31.00.
We're gearing up for our next class event in 2 weeks with
Kathy Rees. I'm finishing up putting the kits together. If you find that
you are able to make the class let us know ASAP so we can make up a kit
in the colorway you want.
Fall is my favorite time of year so I'm looking forward to
cooler days (at some point) and what little leave color change we get. I
do miss seeing the great colors on the east coast (where I traveled
regularly in my high-tech days). But I think I can manage with our
California weather.
Especially since I'm grateful for not having been affected by any storms
or fires as so many people have been.
I hope you are able to find some time to stitch. I'm taking
a break for awhile as I try to let my right wrist heal - fortunately
it's
not carpal tunnel, but my doctor said I've seriously overworked it (like
stitching, typing, beading, gardening and baking might have anything to
do with
it).
Happy Stitching!
