Happy Easter,

I have the best of intentions in doing a monthly newsletter but so far this year I'm 2 for 4, so not great odds. March was a whirlwind with our annual Nashville Needlework Market the first weekend. The lead up to it is always busy, just trying to get ahead before I leave town. Then being gone for 5 days seems like 5 weeks when I get back. I did bring back a lot of goodies including some new hand-dyed embroidery fabrics from Fiber on a Whim and some new colors of Picture This Plus and Black Cauldron Dyeworks linens.

For those of you who've wondered what it's like for us to visit so many vendor's rooms in 2.5 days, I created a 28 minute Nashville video that I posted to our YouTube Channel (youtube.com/NeedleInAHaystack) for you to watch. There's also a short interview at the end with Barb & Alma of Blackbird Designs on why they come to the show.

As this Sunday is Easter, we will be doing our Open Sunday for April on the 8th. Cymone will be on duty and I might be here as well. Come by and enjoy a cup of tea and some shopping.

News & New Things

The big news is - the shop turned 20 this week on Tuesday, March 27th! There will be several fun things throughout the year to celebrate as I'm calling this the year of "My Favorite Things", with the "my" being me! I'm working with a few vendors on some special items we'll offer during the year and once I get the first couple of them ready, I'll announce them. So stayed tuned for some fun things!

Other shop news is we are expanding a little. When we moved into this space I had told my landlord that if the space next to us ever became available I wanted be on the list for it. Well that happened last week and on our 20th anniversary we added a 400 square foot space next door to our lease. A 4' opening has been cut into one of the common walls and we'll be painting and getting new carpet next week. Then on the 9th we're moving all of our office/cube furniture into this space, which will be home to my office, shipping (Marissa & Jen) and receiving (Deb and all of us). Then I'll turn my attention to re-arranging the store space as we'll gain about 300 square feet by moving the cubes. We're doing so much shipping these days that we needed a bit more room for shipping and having some extra store space is good too! We'll post photos once it's all done.

Clover
BunnyJust Nan's Clover bunnyCloverly's Bunny Bungalow shipped to us today. I've been so busy with everything that I haven't even had time to create an order page for this cute little bunny until today. The chart pack is $26.50 and it uses 2 colors of linen for the cottage and the bunny. I've not yet added the fabric to the order page, but the chart pack is there as well as the list of DMC colors and the fabric colors. You can make a note in Comments if you order this weekend and want the fabric. I will try to get it updated with the fabric before the charts show up on Tuesday!

Lizzie*Kate is closing and our last day to order is March 31st. We have ordered copies of some of the multi-part projects they've done since 2015 and we're expecting those to come in April.  If there's something you need, let us know ASAP and we'll add it to the last order we're submitting Saturday March 31st. We're so sad to see them retire.

A Flower Alphabet Elisabetta Sforza's
monogram book, A Flower Alphabet, has been so popular we're on our 3rd shipment from Elisabetta in Italy. We had a bit of a hiccup with receiving some damaged boxes (the joys of international shipping) but replacements have arrived. We've still got a few slots open in this shipment so if you have not already ordered one, you can do so by ordering online or calling us at the shop.

Be sure to check out our YouTube channel where you'll find videos on Elisabetta's new book, examples of dyelot differences, a needle threader how-to, etc. I have plans for a lot of how-to videos so perhaps by late April I'll have to get back to doing them on a regular basis.

Happy Stitching!

Parking at 2433 Mariner Square Loop

We have two parking lots for the office complex. One is off Mariner Square Drive on the courtyard side of the building. The other is behind building #2417, which is next to us. There is no dedicated handicapped parking in either lot and the best place to park for a really flat surface is in the back lot and come in the Mariner Square Loop door. Yes, we are at the corner of Mariner Square Loop, Marina Village Parkway and Mariner Square Drive (go figure!). We keep both doors unlocked during store hours. There is no metered parking here to worry about - it's the two lots and plenty of street parking on Mariner Square Drive. Our complex sits directly on top of the Webster Tube so if you have trouble with your GPS finding us we're 1 block from the Target store (and not in the shopping center).
