I'm trying to stock up on knobs and the No-Baste hook & loop tape especially. But I will be doing an
order for more rods and side bars in the next couple of days.
I am waiting to hear from the two distributors of their
products as to what they think the wind-down time is and how long we
might
still be able to get product. But if you need components of the EZ Stitch
line, order ASAP so we have a better chance of getting
what you need. I no longer see the floor stand or its components on
their website so those items might already be gone (I have an e-mail in
to them to find
out).
New Things
Brenda Gervais is releasing a new summer series called Summer
Schoolhouse - Lessons in Abecedarian. It will have 6 projects over the course of 4 charts to be released later this month, then July,
August and September. Brenda designed the smalls to be stitched
over-one on 28 count Lugana Mushroom. We are suggesting Cashel Clay for
those that want to do it on linen vs. Lugana. It requires a regular
quarter yard of fabric (9x54) for all of the smalls. We do have both
fabrics in stock and
I've added an order page to the new catalog for the series. It's the
only place you'll find the Regular Quarter cut of either fabric. When
you sign up for the
first chart it will add all 4 charts to your shopping cart, and we'll
ship them as they are released. If you want fabric and/or threads you
can order them
there as well and we'll ship those with part 1. There is list of all of
the threads the series uses on the order
page.
I have added the fabric substitutes for Just Nan's Summer Mouse in a House. We picked Lakeside
Linen Honeysuckle (which matches the wool felt) and Belfast
Flax. The Week's fabric is quite grey and I personally was looking for a
somewhat
warmer color for the house and this worked with the threads. Click on
the photo to go to the order page. We still have a couple of copies of
the Spring Mouse
in a House, and a few more of the Summer Mouse in a House - both are sold out from Just Nan.
I have started adding the Hands Across the Sea charts to the online catalog and did get the
greeting cards added. You'll find them in the new version of the online catalog. I'm working my way through all the charts, but as with all things,
it always takes longer than I think it will :-)
I'm
working on updating the Sundance Beads list
with all of the new beads. I'm not done yet (hopefully this
weekend) but I thought you might be interested in the photos of the
glow-in-the-dark beads they released in January. They are only in size
11 and they do glow.
I hadn't left them outside that long when I took this photo. Check the Sundance Beads page in a couple of days and hopefully I will have gotten them added.
While
I've not been doing much stitching the past couple of weeks (I feel
like I've been chained to a desk) I wanted to share with you something
I made several weeks ago for a birthday present. I
used one of the blank Milady's Needle wood spools and created a darning stitch sampler. This was just a design I made up from my various books of
stitches. It's 40 count Wichelt Provence Lavender linen and I used one of the many purple Soie
100/3 colors for the thread. I cut a piece of a paper the diameter
of the spool and then used that to figure out the edges of the linen,
creating a
4-sided stitch border.
To attach the project to the spool I tied off a thread on
the back of both the top and bottom of the edges to join, laced it to
the
other side a bit, slide it over the spool, then
proceeded to "zipper" it closed with the thread. I tied it off in the
middle and then buried the
thread underneath with a curved needle. Gloria explains the finishing in
her kits using some glue, but I didn't want to glue this particular one
down. I added
a pair of purple Victorian Scissors and one my hand-made crystal fobs. Something pretty and something useful for a very dear friend (who gave me permission to
share the photos with you all)!
I hope you find time to stitch something fun for yourself or a friend. Or at least browse through your UFOs for
inspiration.
Happy Stitching!
