Embellishments are more popular than ever and we have a wide variety in stock: buttons, beads, pins, charms and ribbons. We stock all the Mill Hill regular beads and Treasures, while we do stock a few, but not all of their Magnifica beads. For other companies we carry a selection but not necessarily all of their line.

Frames

Boxes/Jars

We stock a few wood boxes and trays from Sudberry as well as wood boxes (and frames) from Olde Colonial Designs. We can also special order anything from these vendors as well as the.ceramic and crystal jars from Framecraft.

Pillows/Banners

Olde Colonial Designs makes a wonderful line of Tuckaway pillows and banners that make finishing your piece a snap. Simply take your stitching, cut to the size of the pillow or banner opening, clean finish the edges and tuck it into the pillow or banner. You can change what's displayed with the seasons or your own personal whim. No framing, no fuss and you have a beautifully finished piece. They come in several shapes, sizes and fabrics, including many seasonal items.

These hand-made scissors fobs use a woven wire construction technique and are made with 4mm Swarovski Crystal bi-cones. Lobster claw clasps easily clip around your embroidery scissors or can even be used as zipper pulls. Color combinations are always changing.

Every needleworker should have a selection of tools (or "toys") and other accessories at their disposal. We carry a selection of silver or brass stilettos, needlecases and threaders; hand turned wood needlecases, laying tools and laying tool cases as well as several reproduction pieces in silver. A particularly nice piece is a thimble cage which attaches to a chatelaine and opens up to hold a thimble. We also stock several designs of pewter pincushions, from elephants to tea cups.

If you like scrimshaw we have a scrimshaw ruler and thread winder with our shop name & a design of a needle in a haystack. We also have sets of silver bodkins (useful for threading ribbons), one of which is a very cute trio of fish.

We carry some lovely Myrtlewood tools from Count Your Blessings; glass-domed tool holder, Rose ruler, laying tool, stitch fixer, and needle threader. These tools are a great addition to your own tool collection and make excellent gifts.

If you're looking for ways to tote your needlework around, we have a selection of bags from small to large. There are small sewing cases for tools, small and mid sized bags for needlework and large bags you can fit the family pet in (although we don't suggest you do that :-)). As the selection changes regularly come in to see what we have or give us a call if you're looking for something specific.

We have a complete selection of Artisan Design scroll frame rods, bars and knobs and stands, including the Ergo stand, built specifically for use with recliners. This compliments the full line of EZ Stitcherscroll frames (by American Dream Products). We can also obtain floor stands from K's Creations by special order or the Lowery stands, which we have drop shipped by the US distributor. If you're looking for a seat frame we can have a traditional English seat frames from England.

Excellent for use with canvas designs are the regular and mini stretcher bars, in sizes from 4 in to 36 in. If embroidery hoops are what you're looking for we recommend the line of wooden hoops from Germany distributed in the US by Access Commodities. The wood is exceptionally smooth and the range of sizes can accommodate very small to large projects.

Needles

Certainly the most important tool for any needleworker is your needle. We carry John James needles, which come in Chenille, Tapestry, Beading and Embroidery. We also have John James gold and platinum needles in available sizes. If you have never used gold or platinum needles they are worth a try - you might get hooked. John James also has produced a gold version of their popular Petite Tapestry needles (shorter than normal). We also stock Piecemaker Tapestry and Chenille needles. New are Bohin Needles from France, which are very smooth and come in Tapestry and Chenille.

Items of Special Interest (good for gifts)

We have a floor model of the Lowery steel floor stands for the shop so you can take it for a spin and see how it works. For those looking for a portable and inexpensive magnifier we have a great clamp magnifier by Daylight™ and several newer magnifer/lights have come on the market.

Another great tool is the "Do-It Tooly" by Lacis which can take the place of the ever popular but now unavailable, Dololly. It comes either straight or curved with a bone handle.

To carry your stitching projects around we also carry 6 sizes of plastic mesh bags, similar to those used in kits by a few designers.
